The Scribes generally meet the second Saturday each month from 10:00 a.m. -
in the Meeting Room of the Lake Wales Public Library Lake Wales, Florida.
***NOTICE***
The November meeting will start at 11:30 and will be at the Beef O’Brady’s on Hwy. 27, just before the exit to Hwy. 60.
This is our annual planning meeting. All are welcome.
We do occasionally find it necessary to change the date and time so it is always
best to confirm the meeting schedule by checking the website for details. Alternatively,

Driving Directions to
the Lake Wales Public Library
From North of Lake Wales
1. Go South on Hwy 27 toward Lake Wales. You will pass Citrus World (on your left).
2. There is a traffic light at the bottom of the hill. Turn left at the light (Central
Ave.). There will be a McDonald's on the right-
3. Turn left when you reach Scenic Highway (aka Rt. 17 or Alt. 27).
4. Turn right at the next light and cross the railroad tracks.
5. Turn left onto the first street after the RR tracks. The library is on your right.
6. Park in the first parking lot you come to (not the main parking lot) and walk around the west side of the building.
7. Enter through the first door, turn left and walk straight into the Meeting Room.
8. The Meeting Room is downstairs; the parking lot is before the library's main parking lot.
From South of Lake Wales
1. Go North on Hwy 27 toward Lake Wales.
2. There is a traffic light after you pass under the Hwy 60 overpass. Turn right at the light (Central Ave.).
Follow instructions 3 -
From South Lakeland or Bartow
From south Lakeland follow Hwy 98 to Bartow, turning left on Hwy 60. Watch closely because Hwy 60 goes off on the right at the Hwy 17/60 intersection. (This is the first intersection after passing Lowe's.)
Stay on Hwy 60 until you reach Central Avenue (just past the railroad tracks). Turn left. Stay on Central, crossing Hwy 27 (McDonalds on the right).
Follow instruction 3 -
An easier, but longer way, would be to follow Hwy 60 to the Hwy 27 interchange and
proceed North to Central (again look for McDonalds) and then follow directions 3
